The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is a private Catholic university located in San Antonio, Texas. As with previous responses, please note that my knowledge is current up to September 2021, and some information may have changed since then.

History: UIW was founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, a congregation of Catholic women religious who were invited to San Antonio to establish a hospital and an orphanage.
